Stelios Efstathiadis

Mr. Stelios Efstathiadis holds an integrated Masters of Science degree of Civil Engineering from NTUA (1990) and MSc in Transportation Planning & Engineering from UT at Austin (1992). He is the founder and project director of TRANSPORTATION SOLUTIONS, LLP based in Athens, Greece.

He has over 25 years of experience in transportation projects. During his career he has been involved in numerous projects either as a team leader or team member in the fields of road design, traffic engineering, transport planning, parking arrangements, road safety, infrastructure planning and design, intelligent transport systems, traffic circulation, bicycle lane design, human factors and public transport. He has been involved in numerous projects around the world (Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Serbia, Moldova, Algeria, Senegal, Saudi Arabia, and elsewhere).

He has served as Mayors’ consultant on transport policy issues (Peristeri 1998-2002, Petroupoli 2007-2009). He was appointed as President of the National (Hellenic) Rail Accident Investigation Body (2011-2013).

He is an active member at the scientific community, attending seminars, training professionals and keeping up to date to the latest developments in the field of transport and safety. His main personal interests are human factors, vulnerable road users and sustainable transport solutions.
