Kati Jasmin Kosonen

Kosonen is working as the Senior Planning Officer in the Finnish LHT-Network, since 2012. The Finnish LHT Network  (MAL-verkosto) works for integrating land use, housing, traffic system planning to modern city planning between 17 city-regions in Finland. The MAL Network supports the cooperation of urban policy between the central state, ministries, special institutions and associations for housing and transportation, universities and the urban Finnish cities and city-regions. The actual work consists of research and development projects, organizing discussion and advisory meetings, seminars, workshops, buzzing meetings, and providing valuable information channels for the network members. The host for the network is the Joint Authority of the Tampere City Region (Finland).

Kosonen has Master’s Degree in Human Geography (evolutionary economic geography) from the University of Eastern Finland. Kosonen studied also Social Policy and Economics, Social Philosophy and International and Environmental Law. She worked as a researcher on regional policies and innovation systems for 2001-2012 at the University of Tampere, Finland.

PROMOTING URBAN HEALTH AND WELL-BEING WITH GIS AND CROSS-BOUNDARY CITY PLANNING

The project “Modelling of well-being and improvement of well-being management -network project HYMY” focuses on to spatially identify the most relevant built environment elements of well-being and how these are spatially distributed and accessible to residents, in the context of Finnish cities.
