André Cester Costa

Degree in Management and Planning in Tourism and Short Term Post-Graduation in Innovation and Development Policies, both at the University of Aveiro.

Assistant Venue Manager at Euro2004 and in between 2005 and 2007 lecturer of the discipline “Event Management” under the Post-Graduation of “Event Management and Planning” at IPCB – Management School in Castelo Branco. Since 2004, responsible for the management of co-financed projects at the City of Aveiro and since 2014 Head-Chief for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship at the City of Aveiro.

He is currently the responsible for the development and management of local projects with different local and national stakeholders, such as: Aveiro Entrepreneurial, Peduca and Aveiro Steam City and promotes the biggest event of technology in the centre region of Portugal: Aveiro Techdays.

André is also the co-founder and President of a Youth Association to promote Active Citizenship in Aveiro [AgoraAveiro].

Abstract

ELECTRIFICATION OF TRADITIONAL “MOLICEIROS” BOATS USED FOR TOURISTIC VISITS IN THE URBAN WATER CANALS OF AVEIRO CITY

This paper presents the technical and governance challenges and actions carried out to plan and test in real operation the implementation of 10 electrical charging stations for 27 traditional wood moliceiros boats that operate in the water urban canals of Aveiro City and are currently powered by fossil fuel engines.
